According the MHS Athletic Director Hoku Haliniak, a new Hawaii Department of Education policy for the 2014-15 school year now requires three parent meetings, one for each sport season.

For the upcoming fall sports season, a meeting will be held Wednesday, July 30, in the MHS cafeteria, 5:30-7 p.m. Several forms need to be completed in order for athletes to play: a physical form, release of liability form, concussion form as well as a receipt-of-student-fees-paid and check-off form. Haliniak emphasizes that no student athlete will play without these forms completed.

For the winter sports season the mandatory meeting will be on Wednesday, Oct. 22, in the school library, 5:30-7: p.m. The spring season meeting will be Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015 in the Library, 5:30-7 p.m. Parents with student-athletes playing three sports only need to attend the fall mandatory meeting on July 30.
