Small plane damaged during landing at Molokai Airport

An accident during landing at Molokai Airport yesterday resulted in minor damage to a Piper PA28 aircraft. No injuries were reported.

The nose gear collapsed on the small, fixed-wing aircraft at around 2:30 p.m., according to Ian Gregor, spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration. The FAA will investigate the accident, Gregor wrote in an email.

The plane, with tail number N4338V, is registered to Washin Air Inc. of Honolulu, according to FAA data.

No other information on the pilot or the cause of the accident is available.
