Hawaiian Airlines is here — Eō e kō Molokai!
Come and join Hawaiian Airlines and ‘Ohana by Hawaiian as the airline celebrates its launch of service to Molokai. The debut of service between Molokai and Honolulu for this new airline will feature refreshments and entertainment at Molokai Airport from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. tomorrow, March 11.
The new aircraft being used by ‘Ohana by Hawaiian, a 48-seat ATR 42 twin turbo-prop, will be on display at the airport during this celebration for the Molokai community.
With Island Air’s announcement that they will end all Molokai service after April 1, ‘Ohana by Hawaiian now becomes the only carrier offering larger aircraft. The two other commercial airlines flying to Molokai, Mokulele/Go and Makani Kai Air, both feature eight-seater Cessna Caravan aircrafts.
‘Ohana by Hawaiian, which will operate out of gates 49 and 50 at Honolulu International Airport, has created more than 100 new Hawaii-based jobs, including pilots, flight attendants, ground-handling and customer service positions. Although Empire Airlines, out of Idaho, will operate the air service, Hawaiian Airlines is handling reservations and sales, allowing the interisland flights to integrate seamlessly into Hawaiian Airlines’ route network.
Members of HawaiianMiles, the Hawaiian Airlines loyalty program, can earn or redeem miles for award travel on all ‘Ohana by Hawaiian flights. Members also receive a discount on the cost of checked bags.
