Lady Farmers end MIL regular season 11-1 after dropping game to Lanai

The Molokai High School girls basketball team traveled to Lanai last weekend to close out the Maui Interscholastic League Division II regular season.

After clinching the number-one seed in the MIL just a week before, perhaps the lady Farmers relaxed a little against Lanai. On Friday night, the two teams played a close game the whole way with Molokai eventually losing 51-48.

They next day the girls tightened up their defense to defeat Lanai 47-34. The win ends the regular season for the lady Farmers with an 11-1 record. The team heads into the MIL tournament, which begins tomorrow and runs through Saturday at Baldwin High School on Maui.

Boys basketball

The Molokai boys basketball team played hard when they traveled to Maui to take on St. Anthony over the weekend. On Friday, homecoming night for the Trojans, the boys came up short 53-49. The next day the boys dropped another game to St. Anthony, 48-41.

The boys team is 0-4 in the MIL regular season. They travel to Maui again this weekend for a pair of games against Seabury Hall.
