Volleyball girls dominate MIL in early season play

After sweeping St. Anthony last week in the season opener, the Molokai High School girls volleyball team continued its winning ways on Lanai.

The girls team flew to Lanai on Friday and took sole possession of first place in the Maui Interscholastic League Division II standings with a 25-19, 25-17, 25-8 win over Lanai on Friday in Lanai City.

On Saturday, the girls swept Lanai again, 25-18, 25-23, 25-6. Molokai senior Taylor Keliihoomalu had 17 kills and Shaniah Molenna Lopez added six kills and 12 assists for the Farmers.

The girls team now has a 4-0 MIL record. They travel to Maui this weekend where they play Maui Prep on Friday at 6 p.m. and then Seabury Hall on Saturday at noon at Seabury.
