Volleyball girls open season with two wins over St. Anthony

The Molokai girls volleyball team opened the 2013 season this weekend with two dominant match wins over St. Anthony at The Barn.

Two years ago, the Farmers also opened the season at home against St. Anthony. As a sophomore, Taylor Keliihoomalu helped Molokai to a win with this kill shot. This year, as a senior, she led the way on Friday with 10 kills.

The Maui Interscholastic League season opened Friday night with a decisive straight-set win over the Trojans. The set scores were 25-15, 25-12 and 25-14. Taylor Keliihoomalu led the Farmers with 10 kills in the match.

The next day, the two teams played again at noon at The Barn with similar results. Molokai won again in straight sets, 25-14, 25-13 and 25-8. Rebecka Adolpho led the way for the Farmers with eight kills.

The Farmers travel to Lanai this weekend for two matches. The next, and last, home games for Molokai will be Sept. 27 and 28 against Hana.
