The season begins Sept. 6 and runs through Nov. 18. The primary age group is 11-15 years ago but younger and older participants, along with adult family members, may come down to Malama Park in Kaunakakai and join the fun.
The days of activities are as follows:
• Mondays: Swimming 3-4:15 p.m. The group will be split according to swim levels. At Cooke Memorial Swimming Pool.
• Wednesdays: Sailing canoe and other activities to be announced from 3-5 p.m. At Kaunakakai Harbor.
• Thursdays: Stand-up paddling (SUP), OC1 canoes, kayaking and windsurfing from 3-6 p.m. The group will be divided according to experience level. At Kaunakakai Harbor.
Fun stand-up paddle races will be held at Kaunakakai Harbor to round off the season on Oct. 20, Nov. 4 and Nov. 18, representing the grand finale for the season.
Other days will be added for more of the advanced youth that want to take their paddling a step further.
There will be an informative meeting along with registration on Thursday, Aug. 30, 5 p.m. at Youth In Motion’s clubhouse area at Malama Park, Kaunakakai Harbor. Youth In Motion’s is located right behind the yacht club.
The activities are open to the entire community and Youth In Motion encourages early registration for the season.
