American Red Cross seeks Molokai volunteers

The flooding across East End Molokai over the past couple of days reminds us that disaster strikes without warning.

Concerned? You can help. The American Red Cross is recruiting disaster services volunteers on the island of Molokai.

The first step for all new disaster volunteers is to take a series of basic disaster classes. All disaster services training is provided free of charge.

New volunteer candidates must register for and attend the entire series. The American Red Cross offers the new volunteer training series for Molokai on the following dates:

Disaster Services: An Overview & Disaster Assessment Basics

Thursday, March 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
OHA Conference Room – Kulana Oiwi Complex

Shelter Operations And Shelter Simulation
Friday, March 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
OHA Conference Room – Kulana Oiwi Complex

Disaster Action Team (DAT) Orientation
Saturday, March 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Queen Lili’uokalani Conference Room – Kulana Oiwi Complex
