The Molokai Chamber of Commerce will host its ninth annual Business & Food Expo at the Lanikeha Center in Hoolehua on Saturday, Nov. 5.
Pu Ke Pono Maika’i (Sharing the Goodness) offers an exciting venue that brings much-needed economic stimuli to Molokai and attracts both island residents and visitors alike. Last year the event attracted over 1,200 people.
Throughout the day, the expo will feature popular Maui County chefs creating unique culinary delights using Molokai products. The special dishes are prepared in front of onlookers and offered for sale.
Featured chefs will include Sherwood Hiro, Hotel Molokai, from East End, Molokai. Maui chefs in attendance will be Christopher Schobel, Hula Grill Kaanapali; Dean Louie, Maui Culinary Academy; Chris Speere, Maui Culinary Academy; Ryan Ferguson,Leilani’s on the Beach.
Headline entertainment will showcase Molokai local talent including Moana’s Hula Halau, Kala ‘n’ Friends and the Anahaki Box Band.
Most importantly, this green event features businesses and food service providers who directly or indirectly contribute to the overall economic sustainability of Molokai. By offering vital exposure and partnership opportunities to all businesses — from farmers, home businesses, financial institutions, food service establishments, to youth entrepreneurs from our Molokai High School business class — they are able to present value-added products and increase their sales.
“With endless opportunities for our businesses, this event truly helps strengthen our economy,” according to Robert Stephenson, president of the Molokai Chamber of Commerce.
