Brush fire breaks out in Ho’olehua

According to a Maui fire battalion chief, a fire consumed about five acres of dry brush yesterday near the Molokai community center farm in Ho’olehua, reports The Honolulu Star-Advertiser.

The fire, reported at 11:30 a.m., was located at the intersection of Huaai Road and Maunaloa Highway in Hoolehua, across the highway from the Molokai Airport.

Four fire units and 17 fire personnel were dispatched at 11:35 a.m. and extinguished the fire at 6:19 p.m.
Two public work bulldozers and two public work tankers assisted.

No structures or crops were damaged and no injuries were reported.
