Library closes Monday for carpet replacement

Molokai Public Library, located at 15 Ala Malama Street, is scheduled to close from Monday, Feb. 14, for a carpet replacement project. The book drop will be locked as of this afternoon for the duration of the project.

During the closure, the library’s carport, located behind the building, will serve as the interim library site. Public service hours will be Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. There will be limited services and computer access will not be available.

Patrons will be able to borrow items already on hold at the time of the closure, honorbacks and available books, as well as browse the newspapers and magazines. DVD movies and CDs will not be available, and staff will not be able to collect fines or fees during the closure.

All materials borrowed while the library is closed will be due on Monday, March 21, 2011.

An announcement will be made when Molokai Public Library is scheduled to reopen.

    Over a month for carpet replacement? I hope there is a lot more than carpet involved, or… whose “Cuzin Benny” got that job!!!??? Only in Hawaii!
