At about 8:30 a.m., this video was shot at the Kawela Bridge, approximately five miles east of Kaunakakai. This bridge is scheduled for replacement later this year by the State Department of Transportation because of the sediment build-up during times of flooding. Today, no serious flooding was evident. Fifteen minutes later, another video was shot at the police and fire station building in Kaunakakai. A new fire station building is in the process of being built, because, in part, the current main station sits in a flood zone. The video also shows the flooding at the Kaunakakai baseball field.
