The Molokai High School boys basketball team saw its first action of the Maui Interscholastic League season at the Maui Invitational tournament Dec. 9-11 at the Maui High School gym in Kahului.

Unfortunately for the Farmers, the team lost both of its games in the tournament.
In the opening round on Thursday, the Farmer boys were blown out by Lahainaluna. Final score: 60-37. The top scorers for Molokai were Kamakana Duvauchelle-Andrade and David Rapanot. Each scored 15 points.

Duvauchelle-Andrade was again the high scorer for Molokai with 17 points when the team played Maui High Saturday. Although Molokai played a much more competitive game, the Farmers still lost 48-39. For Maui High, B.J. Vega finished as the high scorer with 18 points and Vevesi Uta had 13.

The Farmer boys play their next MIL games, which are the first home games of the season, on Jan. 14 (7 p.m.) and Jan. 15 (noon) against St. Anthony. All games are played at The Barn.
