Earth Day celebrated on Molokai today
Earth Day is officially April 22. But on Molokai it will be celebrated today with a special event at the Mitchell Pau’ole Center from 5 to 10 p.m. that will feature live entertainment, displays, ono food and door prizes. Kalaupapa trail closed by mudslides
The recent heavy mauka rains set off a mudslide making the pali trail to Kalaupapa unsafe. Superintendent of the Kalaupapa National Historic Park, Steve Prokop, said that no one should attempt to climb down the trail, which is now badly eroded in parts.
