The Molokai High School girls basketball team wrapped up a perfect season in Maui Interscholastic League Division II play with a 54-18 win over Seabury Hall in the championship game of the league tournament on Friday night at the Hana gym.
The Farmers Kalei Adolpho scored 21 points while Danna-Lynn Hooper-Juario added 14. Molokai led Seabury 32-9 at halftime before cruising to the finish.
Now the girls team can begin its defense of the state’s division II championship Wednesday at Kalani High School. With a perfect 10-0 Maui Interscholastic League record, the Farmers earned the number-one seed in the state basketball tournament, which finishes Friday at Blaisdell Arena.
The winner of the Hawaii Baptist and Kaiser game on Tuesday will play the Farmer girls in the quarterfinal Wednesday. If they win, Molokai plays the semifinal game Thursday, also at Kalani High School.
The Molokai boys split a pair of basketball games versus Lanai over the weekend. On Friday, Lanai won 51-33 in Lanai City. On Saturday, the Farmers won 58-40 as Alvin Ringor scored 16 points, Kamakana Duvauchelle-Andrade added 15, and Julien Bumatay had 10. Both teams finished their MIL Division II regular season with 5-3 records. They will meet in the MIL tournament semifinals at War Memorial Gym on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

Aloha,
please note that there is only one berth for DII boys at States this year. Molokai would have to beat Lanai at the ML Tournament, then beat (undoubtedly) Seabury in the Championship game, then win a playyoff game to go to States. So actualy have to win 3 games!
Thank you for clarifying. I think what you mean is there is only one DII boys berth from the MIL. Are you sure there is only one MIL berth? Last year the state tournament accepted the regular season champion along with the league tournament champion.
