Free retina screenings are coming to Molokai thanks to the Molokai Lions Club. The club will sponsor the Oahu-based Project Vision Bus, shipped courtesy of Young Brothers, with help from the Hawaii Lions Foundation.
Project Vision is a non-profit mobile unit set up by the Retina Institute of Hawaii. This is the first time the van will be touring Molokai and will be stopping at three locations: Next Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Kilohana Recreation Center; also 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Wednesday at Kualapu’u Recreation Center; and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. next Thursday at Home Pumehana. Call 553-5006 for more information.
There is no age restriction or financial qualification to be screened. No appointments are necessary. People will be treated on a first-come, first-served basis.
