Maui County Mayor Charmaine Tavares came to Molokai yesterday for a community meeting to hear from the public what the local priorities need to be for the 2010-2011 fiscal year. Yesterday, at the Maui County employee’s luncheon, Hanale Lindo was named the Molokai firefighter of the year for 2009. Congratulations to Lindo and to all the local firefighters who do a tremendous job in protecting people and property, especially during the brush fires that swept through 8,000 acres on Molokai last month.
