On Sunday, at the 39th annual ‘Ukulele Festival at Kapi’olani Park, recent Molokai High School graduate Colton Manley won a $1,000 scholarship from the festival’s non-profit organization. The grades came out Thursday from the 2009 Hawaii State Assessment tests that determine if schools met the adequate yearly progress mandated by the federal no child left behind law. The state Department of Transportation advises Molokai motorists of alternating single lane closures on Kamehameha V Highway in both directions between Mile Post 7.9 and 11.3 through Friday from 7:30 a.m., to 3.30 p.m., daily, for storm drain modifications and pavement resurfacing.
